The Art Behind Maintaining a Retreat Center

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

keith-blog-003.jpg Retreat groups coming to TYME OUT may not always have the opportunity to meet Keith Bartley, but they all enjoy the fruits of his labor. As our Minister of Maintenance, Keith keeps the facility running smoothly, providing retreatants with a comfortable environment in which to nurture their spiritual lives.

But how many visitors to TYME OUT realize that within this same Michaelangelo of Maintenance beats the heart of an artist? Upon entering the building, one can catch a glimpse of his artistic talents in the ceramic TYME OUT sun-logo that hangs on the same wall that recognizes our many generous donors.

Keith works in a variety of media, from ceramics to stained glass and paints. Check out a small sampling of his works below, and just click on the thumbnail for a larger view.

May 1, 2009 at TYME OUT will go down in history as a huge success.  It was a success because of all the wonderful people who were there and the wonderful staff who worked so hard to make it happen.  Each picture above represents some of the wonderful people who made this success happen; our interns, our volunteers, our foundress, our donors, our board.

I wanted to get some pictures up this week.  We have lots more and many more stories; however, I will let Kathy Wisnefski, our development director share more in a week or two when she has a little more time.  for right now, I just want to say,

THANK YOU ALL, SEE YOU NEXT YEAR, MAY 7, 2010!
